Well the cowboy, like the red man, you had to leave your land
You can't raise your stock and plant your crop in the gumbo and the sand
Greed disguised as progress has put us to the test
They won't be glad until we're gone from our home out in the west
It's sad to see those good old days replaced with greed and doubt
Soon we'll leave the country, the campfire has gone out
Bid 'em all adieu, you can't turn the world about
The cowboy left the country, the campfire has gone out

It's a great touring bike! Alas, its not a Harley - meaning Harleys use an iron block engine and Jap Bikes use Aluminum block engines. In doing a long haul, a Jap Bike needs to stop and rest every 700 - 1200 miles or every 5 -8 hours to cool down but a Harley can run indefinitely.

But that is a great price for a great ride.

Got a spare engine with it too. I can't believe all the after market parts they make for it. could put a full soft tail frame in it if I wanted. Yeah, it isn't a harley but you can't get a running harley in this condition for $500 Someday I'll get a harley, or an indian, or maybe I'll build one from the ground up. My brother in law is getting a frame jig so I can build an indian replica if I wanted with a harley engine

I like it the way it is, that style of touring bike I like. Put some saddle bags on it, maybe a side car or a tow hitch with a small tear drop camper trailer, and get rolling! Clean it up, tune it up. It would be good to go.

Hell, a second engine too? Make a frame and slap it in there!

Get a battery case for it. it needs it Smiley If I remember, that was where the "750" or other engine displacement was at.

I'm in the word of the Super Bikes - the Ninjas, Katanas CBR's and so on. When I say I want a Gold Wing (Honda) V-Max, Virago, or Pacific Coast, my friends look at me like I am crazy. But the engines are the same, the transmissions are the same. It is just that they are souped up for more HP. I just want to ride. Not go at 155 and end up as Road Pizza.

Just looking at Craig's List for your bke, there is nothing there that is not 3X the price of yours. There is one for $500, but "needs work" and "No Title."

Today, I helped my neighbor with his Bicycle as he bought a $20 Parts bike and from that he was able to fix 3 of his bikes and I got some spare parts to fix 2 of mine. It's been an interesting day.

sounds like. Yeah, I've thought of custom building one with the second
I have a goldwing too. it's just heavier and I don't have a lot of road miles in so I'm scared I'm gonna dump it.. paid $3000 for that 2 years ago. This one I'm not as worried about. I scuff it a bit I can get parts cheap.

it does need a battery case. got one on order.
