"Come." Tonane leads the party through the village. As she is walking through the village, Jeanette observes the natives as they go about their traditions and daily lives like they have for the past 1,000 years. There is a difference. The tools and permanent structures suggest they have evolved technologically while at the same time preserving their way of life. Tonane and the party come to the river where Salish men are preparing a net. Jeanette Isabelle
