Bi-monthly Bluegrass Review #3
May 15th, 2008, 1:18pm

Sorry it took so long, but been havin' a rough go of it lately. here is "Cora is Gone" I love this song, especially when don't by Flatt and Scruggs, but all I can find online is this oriental guy singin' it, but he's good on that guitar, believe you me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pC5mN-qHpqc

and if you want here are the words:

SPOILER:
Winds through the night blowing so lonesome,
Singing to me a song. A whip-poor-will call is just a reminder,
Pretty girls have hearts made of stone.

(Chorus) Away with the blues at dawn,
 My darling Cora is gone.
I don’t know why she told me good-bye,
But my darling Cora is gone.

The ring that she wears I bought for her finger,
 Purchased a ring so fine.
Gave her my last greenback dollar,
And now she’s left me behind.

(Chorus)

Drifting along like brush in the river,
 Knowing not where I roam.
Going to live in the deep forest,
Dark hollows will be my new home.

enjoy.

Well the cowboy, like the red man, you had to leave your land
You can't raise your stock and plant your crop in the gumbo and the sand
Greed disguised as progress has put us to the test
They won't be glad until we're gone from our home out in the west
It's sad to see those good old days replaced with greed and doubt
Soon we'll leave the country, the campfire has gone out
Bid 'em all adieu, you can't turn the world about
The cowboy left the country, the campfire has gone out
