Was on Armbian website recently to download some OS for the O-Pies I have. Though I have Raspbian for the O-Pi from Orange Pi.org, that system version was oly made to show that the board works and little more. I tooted my horn for Armbian in the past because I used it last year when I got my first O-Pi (O-Pi PC) and it worked then and it seemed to work on mu O-Pi Mini, O-Pi One and O-Pi Lite though I never put it through its paces with the other boards.
 
So I decided to do a little Software Updating and get the up-to-date Debian Jessie for the O-Pi Boards I have.
 
But when I went Armbian to download the OS for the boards I have, I was appalled by what was being offered. On the O-Pi Zero boards (H2 Series) - Ubuntu Server. On the O-Pi Lite (H3 Series compatible with the O-Pi Mini, O-Pi One and O-Pi PC) - Ubuntu Desktop.
 
WTF is going on?!! Somebody from Ubuntu trying to take over Armbian? That's Bull! Ubuntu does not the full coverage of the O-Pi Board's memory Map to make things like the GPIO useful! Armbian Does!
 
Then I notice on both pages an orange colored text "other download options and archive" It was a link to the other options. Clicking on it took me to the "official download archive" and lists the OSes there for the system you want. Debian Jessie was listed as "Debian_jessie_default.7z" Clicking on it starts the download (about 270MB in 7z compressed format).
 
They recommend using Etcher to burn the System onto an SD Card. You can get Etcher here: https://etcher.io/
 
So, just a word of caution, look before you click. There are some changes going on in Armbian that I do not like. Armbian is the ARM Version of Debian. Ubuntu is a Debian Branch of Linux and Gnome and other options that I go not like on x86/x64, plus they do not have full support of Pie Systems like their GPIO. They just set up enough to show that the system is working (sound familiar...). Make sure you have the right version of the link you are about to click.
