This is a touchy subject which I totally disagree with but it is something that a Grey-Side Hacker like myself would be into.
 
A lot of places have been opening various courses on Ethical Hacking. What is Ethical Hacking?
 
Ethical Hacking is checking a system for its weaknesses and reporting them and giving out information on how to fix the problem. As consultants, Ethical Hackers can get $250/hour or more just for systems checking, and double that for recovery and forensic work.
 
You probably seen them on FaceBook by U-Academy and other places - "Ethical Hacking Course with Kali Linux." All they do it teach you how to be a product user, nothing more. And you spend hundreds of dollars for basically a certificate that claims you're an ethical hacker because you can use the software to determine weaknesses. What a joke that is!
 
You can learn this on your own and for free. You just got to sit down and do it your self instead of getting a neat package from some school.
 
But first off, you need to sacrifice a laptop for install Kali Linux on and take with you to the site you are to access. But what if you an replace the laptop for something smaller? Like a Raspberry Pi? Can it be done?

Thing is, you need to set up Kali Linux first. Then you need to go get the software tools and add it to Kali Linux. Look at the left side for a "Table of Contents" which shows the steps you got to do.

Several systems are there, including the Cubie Board, BeagleBone Black, Banana Pi and the Nano Pi, on top of the Raspberry Pi.

I think you can build a Live CD with the image where you can boot the system from the CD and leave your hard drive intact. Or you can spend a few bucks on ebay and get a used laptop and build it as a hacker system. That is up to you.
 
Once you set up the Raspberry Pi, read the documentation, and uploaded all those tester applications, and tried it out for yourself, you can sell your services as an ethical hacker. If you need certification, you can take the two courses I'm taking on Future Learning (.com) and these two courses, pass the exams with a 80% or better and pay for the certificate.

You might have to act fast before they close the first one down. I did the two weeks (something like 25 lessons) on a day's worth of looking over the videos and doing the exercises and posting discussions. There are 2 exams in the end of each week, about 8 to 10 questions; you need to get an 80% or better on both to pass and get the certificate.
 
The certificates are around $75, which I can't afford for the moment and can be college credit transferable if you go for your masters. You need to talk to them about the details of that. The course is free, but the certificate is not, that's the catch.
