Raspberry Model A+ Upgraded to 512MB?
Aug 30th, 2016, 5:23pm

Just seen a couple of selling posts for the Raspberry Pi Model A+ for $35. Thing is, this Model A+ is stated as "Upgraded for 2016 - 512MB RAM."

The Model A+ is the replacement to the Model A, which both have 256MB of RAM, not 512MB. This "Updated" Model A+ would basically make it a Raspberry Pi:0 on a larger board and a slower CPU. Essentially, it would be a Model B+ with 1 USB Port and no Ethernet.

Another issue, the Model A+ is supposed to sell for around $20 - $30, posts I seen for this "updated model" is going for $35.

Question: Is it worth it at the $35 price for just double its RAM?

Here's a post from Bang Good.com for $33:

Seems like they could do a lot better update for that price,  since they have others at the same price or less with more or better functions

Well the cowboy, like the red man, you had to leave your land
You can't raise your stock and plant your crop in the gumbo and the sand
Greed disguised as progress has put us to the test
They won't be glad until we're gone from our home out in the west
It's sad to see those good old days replaced with greed and doubt
Soon we'll leave the country, the campfire has gone out
Bid 'em all adieu, you can't turn the world about
The cowboy left the country, the campfire has gone out

The Raspberry Pi Foundation sets the price for the item, for example - the Raspberry Pi:0 for $5. But Sellers snatch them up and up the price, $15+ for the R-Pi:0

The Raspberry Pi Model A+ is set by the foundation at $20. I'm guessing that the updated version is also set at $20 as well. But the Sellers tack their own price to them, in this case Bang Good.com for $33. I agree, and I found a couple Model A+ with 256MB RAM still going on ebay for under $25.

For me that $33 price puts it up there with the Model B+, R-Pi:2 and R-Pi:3 which goes for $35 in most places.
