Title: RetrOrangePi
Post by Fernando on Aug 4th, 2021, 9:45pm

RetroPi is one of forks of the Raspian (Debian) Linux. It is one of the most popular Raspberry Pi emulation apps around.

Though it has been around for a few years, it has not been perfect with issues of incompatible drivers of their hardware graphics acceleration. It's been fixed for the most part a couple years ago (but I had forgotten about it and not accessed since then). Now RetrOrangePi comes complete with Emulation Station, RetroPi, Kodi under Armbian Linux (a version of Linux for Arm Systems similar to Raspbian for the Raspberry Pi. actually they are functionally the same). It will tun on most Orange Pi Systems with H2+, H3, H5, A20, A64 CPUs with the Mali (400/800) GPUs. That is basically anything from an Orange Pi Zero on up, preferably anything system with 1GB of RAM though 512MB will work as well.

I do not have the time to check it out now but will in the near future. Check out:

I have a lot of the older attempts of making a Raspberry Pi into an Emulation System like RetroPi, PiMame, Chameleon, etc. and out of them all Retro Pi was the least heachache of them all - LOL.

That Emulation Station and Controller Set Up Start Up basically sucks on on Retro Pi, but the others are just as bad and best to set it up with the keyboard as the controller.

yeah, but I've always wanted to build a replica arcade machine with one. Would like it stable enough that you can start it up and go without a keyboard every time. Not got it to work that well yet.
