Title: Got the BeagleBone Post by Fernando on Oct 20th, 2016, 5:00pm The trade came in and I got the BeagleBone Black. Currently I am connected to it by the USB and see it on the browser. But it is blank, nothing there, just an empty webpage. He must have deleted all the personal and important information from the device, which means I have to get an SD Card and install the OS from scratch. Comparing it to the other one some think was used for BitCoin Mining, there are 3 chips and the ports missing on it. Other than that, the two are virtually the same. Interesting, I know that Newark/Element 14 does R-Pi modifications on the board for custom units, I under if they would do a BeagleBone Mod, and for how much. I would have to explain what is needed and why. Depending on the costs, I will need to investigate this. |

Title: Re: Got the BeagleBone Post by Fernando on Oct 21st, 2016, 7:59pm I was able to study it some more. This guy who had it wiped it clean of ll the good stuff it would have had when it comes out of the factory and put on a minimal Debian Linux on it. Just a command line console with simple web service, noting more. I got the proper Linux to put on it - Angstrom, as it comes from the factory, I just need to get a SD Card to put it onto, boot it up and then flash it to the BeagleBone's Flash-RAM area. In the very least, it does work. Now if I can find it, I need a Micro-HDMI Cable to connect it to a monitor. As is, I'm just running it on the PC through the text console (Putty console program). |
