Damn, that shit is TINY! But I noticed something about it, and as such had to verify it. The Raspberry Pi Zero (aka R-Pi:0) is half the size of the Model A+ if you were to cut the Model A+ in half along the short side. But one thing I noticed is that to make it this small, they had to remove the Camera and LCD Ports off it.

Raspberry Pi Model A+

But its price is only $5! And it comes with the following:
  • 1GHz ARM11 core (40% faster than Raspberry Pi 1)
  • 512MB of DRAM
  • A micro-SD card slot
  • A mini-HDMI socket for video
  • Micro-USB sockets for data and power
  • An unpopulated 40-pin GPIO header - Identical pinout to Model A+/B+/2B
  • An unpopulated composite video header
  • Smallest ever form factor, at 65mm x 30mm x 5mm

First the Negatives:
  • Use of micro ports means one has to get adapter cables for it. Unfortunately this raises the $5 price.
  • If you need Composite video or access to the GPIO, you need to add the headers, which also adds to the $5 price.
  • It is still a Model A/A+ - with just 1 USB port and no Ethernet port.

But as is it is a viable computer like the Model A/A+.

Now the positives:
  • Faster CPU
  • Double the RAM of the Model A/A+
  • Smallest board made (thus far)
  • $5 price

Unfortunately, I forgot to get a Mini HDMI to HDMI converter so I can not use it right now. But I will post up the reviews when I get it running.

Off to a good start anyway.
