It is died, though you could download their OLD CDs from their Web Site: http://releases.theopencd.org/ The OpenDisc Project (http://theopendisc.com) was created to pickup where Open CD left off. They list many great programs, incuding 1 or 2 that you may already use: Firefox. But to keep the free software movement going, they converted some of these programs for Windows Users. Windows it self, like Linux is just the operating system. A computer with just the operating system is just pretty much useless. Thats why the software is free. In the Linux world- these are the big titles to have. |

Post by Fernando on Feb 20th, 2008, 11:43am Given the option of spending hundreds of dollars for the software above or spending some time to download a cd image file and burning it to a disk and have a 'license' to run the software, I'll take my chances with Free. People do not understand that there is quality software out there that they can get and use for free which is as good or better than the pay stuff. They think that they can pump money into their machines and expect them to run better. People live in such a falicy... |
