Title: faith of old
Post by Desert Mouse on Oct 18th, 2007, 11:30pm

Sitting here at the fire side, I think of the Duke and his great movies that have enjoyed and learned some great morality truths from.
in the 1960`s me and my dad would rush to the latest John Wayne movies as soon as they were released.
Thinking back my dads favorite from the duke years past,
Not sure in this pic, but "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" was my dad`s favorite.

Well any who just looking at the fire and thinking of old times, when my dad showed me that all fathers are not some old duffer.

The Duke! Love those old westerns. have 80% of his movies.
True, fathers can be more if they care enough to. Thank you for this. really good!

Yes yellow ribbon, and fort Apache are two of my favorites.

red river was excellent, but i think Rio Bravo and  the cowboys was little better followed by the Rooster Cogbern movies he did. oh and Rio Grand was really good too!

Now the Cowboys was good, those kids, who later became men, Rooster Cogbern was awesome, the best quote that I love was in True Grit, "Well come and see a fat old man some time" I was told the character of Rooster most fitted John Wyane as him self in real life

To be honest, he looks almost identical to the father from Malcolm in the Middle.

It's actually not a bad show. I'm not sure if it's still on television any more (it's had a pretty long run if it has), but it managed to be well-written most of the time.

Truth be told, I could never stand Western films. Just something about the entire genre perturbs me.  :-/
