Type 1

Type Generation 1 Cyborgs.

Type 1 (aka First Generation Cyborgs) are of the SWA's Section 2 derived from SWA Section 1 Type 0 Cyborgs.

Improvements to the Type 1 over Type 0 are:
-Improved Carbon Fiber ONLY Skeleton.
-Improved Nuero System Network.
-Improved Host Body Integration.
-Enhanced Sensory Inputs.
-Enhanced Learning and Temporary Memorization.
-Enhanced Reflexes and Strength over the Type 0.
-Enhanced Internal Bullet Resistance.

Additions to the Type 1 Cyborg from the Type 0:
-Miniturization of cyborg parts.
-Denser Artificial Muscle Matrix.
-Need higher concentration of Type 0 Cyborg Implant Medication.
-Need Reformulation of Implant Medication to include programmed metal response.

Type 1 Cyborg Requirements:
-Total Hands-on Instruction.
-Total Handler Interaction and Control of the unit.
-Bonding of Cyborg/Handler as a Fratello.
-Heavy Medical Intervention even on smallest of wounds and injuries.
-MUST BE A CHILD/TEENAGER.

There have several prototypes of the Type 1s until the Angelina/Angelica until was released. Since then there has been several units handed out to Fratello teams.

Each handler is responsible for the care of their cyborg, thus increasing the bond the cyborg has with the handler. Further bonding is done with the conditioning medication and programmed mental response.

Since the cyborgs are children and teenagers (mostly girls) as young as 7 and as old as 19, the use of carbon fiber bone have stopped them from growing further, although some models have been made to have adjustable points to allow some growth as they age. The use of the reformulated conditioning medication alters the normal body hormonal cycle, thus slowing down the aging process of the cyborgs, which slows down their internal organ growth. The medication also has some interaction with the deteriorating brain function when used over the long term.

Failure of the Type 1 Cyborgs.

First failure of a cyborg on the field occurred on the unit Elsa di Sica. Due to conflicting emotional / mental response programming and Lauro's negative treatment of her, Elsa killed her handler and then herself.

First failure of a cyborg in the lab occurred on unit Angelica. Due to accidental erasure of her personality and memory during program rewriting for improved reactions, Angie had underwent through months of high doses of condition medication. This later started a cascade failure of her long term memory, and flash backs. Angelica seems to have recovered her ability to function normally, but not her memories. Being the first cyborg, Angelica has been through many set backs and malfunctions through her life cycle. She seemed to have been improving greatly until a truck bomb exploded and she sacrificed herself to save her handler. Heavily damaged, she was later rebuilt with a new body, but injuries to her brain further accellerated her deteriorating brain functions. She died weeks later.
