History: In Season 1/Episode 3 and Manga Volume 1/Chapter 2, Rico meets up with a boy who was a hotel worker during her mission. His name was Emilio. During the stake out part of the mission, he befriends her, and she begins to have unresolved emotions towards the boy. He thought she was a rich girl seeking a quiet place to pratice her violin; she was surprised and unsure how to handle the situation, so they spent the time talking. Because so much time was spent, Jean orders Rico to kill and kill anyone who interferes with any future missions.

During the assassination part of Rico's mission, she runs into Emilio. Forced to obey orders to protect the integrity of the mission, she reluctantly shoots him.

Fighting for his life in hospital, Emilio was discovered by Childville agent Kathryn, who was searching for a suitable candidate for her cyborg. She chose him.

Emilio was eventually taken to Childville; Israel's answer to the SWA/Section 2. There he was turned into a cyborg, and trained to be an assassin like Italy's counterparts.
