Isle of Evel as seen from the bow of the SS HerringThe Isle of Evel is a small island, about the size of Manhattan Island (25 sq miles), laying on the middle of Sicily, Corsca, and Italy. Originally named 'The Island of Evil' throughout history, it has seen its share of shipwrecks and deem by sailors past and present as "a place you do not want to go to!"
The Isle of Evel was created by an long extinct volcano over the past thousands of years. There are occassional Earthquakes on the Isle of Evel, but most are minor. Nothing much in terms of plant or animal life has settled there, making the island look black, desolate, and inhospitalble. A perfect place for secret lairs, bases and secret organizations...
Dr. Frankenstein and his medical and technical staff was not the first humans to inhabit the island. Many attempts were made, including an Italian/German scientist group in during WWII. A base was constructed along the side of the volcano, and its Magma pile is used as a heat and energy source. A lot of equipment was also left behind, much of it recycled by Dr. Frankenstein and his staff.
Upon hearing about a pre-built and abandoned lab facility on the Isle of Evel, Dr. Frankenstein took it as his own to conduct experiements on humans and cybernetics. With the small hospital/clinic built from the old WWII base, he remained there for years improving the technologies and giving new life to leporsy and other disabled/disfigured patients, until the Italian government decided to raid and shut down the site.
The site currently is abandoned, with much of the equipment found there confiscated by the Italian Government.
